Eddie Collier was born September 13, 1960 in Forsyth, Georgia, to the proud parents of the late Mr. and Mrs. John (Laura) Collier. He was blessed to be reared in a Christian home by parents who feared the Lord.
The word of God says in II Timothy 4:2 “Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage--with great patience and careful instruction”. Our speaker has been diligent in keeping that promise. As a result of being reared with Christian parents and being led by the Holy Spirit, He accepted the call to preach God's word on December 31, 1978. Since he accepted his calling to preach the Gospel, he has pastored Welcome Grove Baptist Church (Thomaston, Georgia) and the St. Smyrna Baptist Church (Newnan, Georgia). Presently, he serves as the Senior Pastor of the Towaliga County Line Baptist Church (Jackson, Georgia). He has been the pastor since October 1983. He allows God to use him to preach, teach and counsel his congregation on how to live a righteous life. Eddie Collier is presently employed as a Bailiff and Chaplain for the Lamar County Superior Court in Barnesville, Georgia.
The word says in II Timothy 2:15 “Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth”. He has done what thus saith the Lord. He is a 1978 graduate of Lamar County Comprehensive High School. His secondary education began at Beulah Heights University in Atlanta, Georgia. Upon the completion of his course of studies, he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biblical studies in April 1995 from Beulah Heights University. His postsecondary degrees were also earned at the Beulah Heights University, which includes a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies (May 2009) and a Master of Divinity (May 2011). As a Biblical scholar, he continued to further his education. He pursued a doctoral degree and earned a Doctor of Ministry degree from Regent University located in Virginia Beach, Virginia in May 2014. His affiliations are Board Member for the McIntosh Early Childhood Development Council Inc., Board Member for the Lamar County Department of Family Children Services, Lamar County Equalization Board Member, and Chaplain for the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office, and The Barnesville Police Department. As Chief Executive Officer of Second Chance Ministries, Dr. Eddie F. Collier is the CEO of Second Chance Ministries. He oversees all programs and projects. Under the leadership of Dr. Collier, the organization operates several ministries and programs that are committed to educating and enhancing the lives of others within the community. Through developments in human services, not-for-profit management, governance, philanthropy and fund development, Dr. Collier is committed to advocating and improving health and human services. Dr. Collier has strategically and successfully developed the direction of the organizations under the aegis of the board of directors.
The word says in Genesis 2:28 “Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him” He is not alone, He is the husband to Michelle Buckner Collier. The word says in Genesis 1:28 ‘And God blessed them, and God said unto them, be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it”. Our speaker obeyed the command from God and is the proud and devoted father of three - Christopher, Ashley, Breanna, son-in-love Dee, and granddaughter, Collier.
